Job description

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking an Electrician, Journeyperson - HSL, Local 1 in Halifax, NS. - Apply safe work practices to all work performed. - Use and maintain tools and equipment required for performing various work activities. - Assist in docking and undocking vessels. - Setup for specified work on a vessel or job site - Able to learn surface preparation, coating application and apply those skills. - Perform fire watch and confined space watch duties. - Able to work with minimal supervision. - Assist skilled-trades workers within the shipyard performing general labour work. - Compartment turnover readiness and cleaning. - Able to safely and efficiently be able to use different types of power tools. - Being a team player is a must. - Lift, move, or position equipment at work sites - Work in a shipbuilding and repair, steel industry environment Physical effort and work conditions: *This does not constitute a complete list of duties associated with the role.
