Title: Temporary - Police Officer (Pool) POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of police duties such as patrolling the assigned area(s) to detect/deter crime and arrest violators to ensure security and safety people and property. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Patrols the campus by foot, bicycle, or motor vehicle. Investigates suspected crimes, report findings, and arrest suspected individuals. Testifies in a court of legal proceedings. Investigates accidents involving persons or property, report probable cause of accidents, pursue an appropriate course of action, and ensure that all incidents and arrest activities are properly documented. Proficiently operates law enforcement equipment (including lethal and non-lethal weapons necessary in the performance of required duties). Keeps records and prepares reports (offense, arrest, fire system, emergency phones, alarm systems, and mechanical equipment). Provides escorts and/or makes bank deposits or special mail deliveries.
