Job Summary: The Pharmacy student is under the general supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist while working. He/she is under the specific supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisors and Clinical Pharmacist Supervisors for the technical functions in the operation of the Department of Pharmacy. The primary responsibility in accordance to established policies and procedures is to prepare and distribute medications and IV solutions. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: - Develops familiarity with medications: generic and trade names, methods of administration, usual dosages, usual dosage schedules and conversion between metric and apothecary systems. Distributes automated dispensing cabinetry with appropriate dosage forms and monitors discharge and transfer lists and removes and transfers bins appropriately. Delivers medications along with appropriate labels. - Repackages tablets, capsules and liquid medication, operate re-packaging machine and assigns expiration dates as per policy.
