Description Job ID: FT9983-2070-1839: Position Classification: FT Temporary: Position Summary: The ASL Interpreter will facilitate communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing patients and providers, ensuring access in clinical and educational settings. This position requires proficiency in ASL and a Michigan Medical/Mental Health endorsement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Facilitate clear and accurate communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing patients and/or practitioners during consultations, exams, procedures, and treatments in a clinical setting as well as interpreting in didactic educational settings. - Ensure accurate interpretation of dental terminology, instructions, patient and provider communication, and didactic content in both English and ASL. - Maintain accurate records of interpreting sessions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
