The Alma Mater Society (AMS) is the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) student society, and works to improve the academic, social and personal lives of the 56,000 UBC students at its Vancouver campus. The AMS also runs nine food and beverage outlets, a catering and conference operation, and the AMS Student Nest, providing on-campus employment opportunities and generating revenue that goes directly back into supporting the students at UBC. Position title: Bartender: Department: Food & Beverage Reports to: Outlet Manager Supervises: Outlet Staff Employee status: Hourly, part-time or temporary, part-time until August 31, 2026 Hours per week: Varies based on business needs, approximately 2-3 shifts per week. Compensation: $18.00 per hour This position is included under the MoveUP 378 Bargaining Unit. This position is in-person. Position Purpose: The Bartender is responsible for the superior and timely guest service and beverage quality at the Gallery Patio & Lounge.
