Occupational Health Specialist

Job description

The Occupational Health Specialist performs both occupational health and personal health consultation for MidAmerican Energy Company employees and participates in medical surveillance programs while developing pro-active programs to take a preventative approach to employee health. Performs both occupational health and personal health consultation for MidAmerican Energy Company employees while maintaining sensitive and confidential information regarding company information, including employee medical history and records by ensuring that no breach of HIPPA occurs . (25%) Reviews medical documents pertinent to medical surveillance programs including respiratory medical clearance, hearing conservation, ergonomic evaluations, first aid materials, periodic functional physical assessment and hazard communications. (20%) Develop proactive programs to take a preventative approach. (10%) Attends and participates in approximately 50% of local safety meetings. (5%) Documents timely and supports the medical recordkeeping systems. (15%) Schedules and teaches CPR training to employees and coordinate with operations to ensure compliance in region.
