Department/Unit: Cytopathology Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $65,102.17 - $100,908.37 ***YOU MUST HAVE AN ASCP CT LICENSE AND A NYS LICENSE FOR THIS JOB***: A Cytotechnologist utilizes knowledge and anatomical laboratory experience to perform the analyses of cytopathology specimens in an accurate and timely manner. The Cytotechnologist performs analyses that aid clinicians in the detection and diagnosis of disease and/or the monitoring of the progress of defined illnesses or treatments initiated by a physician. This position requires the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility. The Cytotechnologist works under the supervision of the director or NYSED licensed supervisor in the subspecialty of Cytology/Cytopathology. 1. Performs testing and reports results on laboratory specimens 2. Thoroughly, accurately and legibly documents test results and quality control 3. Demonstrates and uses the applicable computer systems 4. Listens well, takes direction and engages in interactive dialogues with others. 5.
