POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Ultrasound Manager and Lead Ultrasound Technologist, the Ultrasound Technologist provides skill and initiative to the department’s mission through interactions with staff, manager and others as necessary. The ultrasound technologist’s primary duties are to generate diagnostic sonographic images for the radiologists, while also implementing policy and procedures as determined necessary through the manager and lead technologist. Position: Breast Sonographer: Department: Breast Imaging: Schedule: 40 Hours (Days): ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Performs a wide variety of exams as required and necessary for proper departmental workflow. Assists physicians during sterile invasive procedures, i.e. biopsies, aspirations, thoracenteses, intraoperative etc. Satisfies operational requirements to include covering the department as determined necessary through either the Manager or Lead technologist. Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
