Summary The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant I who is proficient in delivering patient care in an ambulatory setting and providing support to Live Answer. This role performs patient care responsibilities and offers clerical and administrative support in a clinical environment. This is an outpatient position located at the Vintage Campus, with a regular work schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role provides support to multispecialty areas, with a focus on Cardiology and Gastroenterology (GI). This position is located at The Vintage Hospital in Houston, TX. Free parking is available on-site. Job Duties: - Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collecting specimens, EKGs/ECGs, and POCTs. - Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters information in the electronic medical record. - Notes the primary complaint/reason for patient's visit or phone call. - Sets up instruments and equipment for Physician. - Assists with procedures as needed. - Administers medication under direction / order of a supervising Physician. - Instructs Patien...
