We’re hunting for a Surgical Technologist II in our CVOR, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, assisting the physician while performing related patient care duties in an age-appropriate manner as assigned by the circulating nurse (RN). Job Duties & Responsibilities: - Performs patient care related duties. - Prepares and assists with the preparation of the operating room according to the needs and age appropriateness of the patient and the surgical procedure as evidenced by the following, but not limited to: knowledge of surgical pathology as related to the planned surgical intervention; knowledge of allergies (awareness of high-risk groups for latex allergy); knowledge and preparation of special equipment i.e., implants, prostheses, instrumentation per procedure/preference, and medications. - Applies knowledge of surgical procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs, having supplies opened or available in a cost-effective manner as observed by the circulating nurs...
