Intake/Mental Health Clinician (Masters)

Description JOB SUMMARY: Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice, and vision and values of the organization, participates in the intake and mental health clinician function for the Child & Youth Mental Health Services to ensure linkages between client and the appropriate resources occurs. Performs initial screening, triages and makes referrals. Educates and provides consultation to client/family, provides information to health providers and the general public, In addition, conducts psychosocial assessments of children and youth experiencing severe behavioural, social, emotional disturbances and serious mental health problems; collaborates with multidisciplinary team and consults with team psychologist and/or psychiatrist/pediatrician. Establishes and maintains relationships based on respect, initiates and participates in case conferences/meetings, provides support to colleagues and consultative services to child and youth service providers for continuity of care.
