Job description

Summary Responsible for collecting topographic data and providing Field Supervisors with accurate grade information to facilitate drainage of new pavement improvements for alley and street projects. Also, this position is responsible for establishing control points for alignment of streets and elevation information for pavement improvement projects. Pay Range : (Depending on qualifications and experience) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned . Set elevation control points and place markers providing grade information. Locate City benchmarks, set control and use a surveyor’s auto level and elevation rod to process level loop data. Mark sidewalks and driveways to prepare for construction. Communicate effectively with excavation and paving crews in the interest of job quality. Monitor jobs in progress. Locate property markers using an electronic magnetic locator. Establish elevations of existing streets or alleys using a surveyor’s level and elevation rod or Data collector. Attend all required training and safety meetings. Set pins and maintain string line for construction crew. May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays...
