Responsibilities: - Performs refractions to determine vision changes and prescriptions for eyewear. - Monitors patient flow to keep physicians on schedule. - Demonstrates the ability to correctly perform the following: ancillary testing, visual fields, a-scan, fundus photography, corneal topography, and corneal pachymetry. - Demonstrates the ability to correctly document the patient history and medication in the medical record. - Demonstrates the ability to respond to messages in a timely manner, according to clinic policy. - Provides patient instructions per physician and seeks understanding from patient. - Stays abreast of current changes and continually seeks to enhance skills, stays current in CEU’s. - Assists physicians with laser and surgical/technical procedures. - Triages patient acuity and schedules appointments. - Monitors patient flow to keep physicians on schedule. - Observes department conditions and activities taking appropriate action to deliver a positive patient experience. - Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions. - Takes initiative to seek out tasks and duties and/or assist others as necessary.
