Join Our Deaconess Team! We’re looking for compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Step Down - ICU team at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center. As part of our dedicated care team, you’ll provide safe, patient-centered care while working in a collaborative and supportive environment where your skills truly matter. Job Overview: An ICU Step Down Nurse, also known as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse, provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to a less intensive environment. Responsibilities include monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and coordinating with physicians to adjust treatment plans. They must manage complex medical equipment, respond to emergencies, and offer patient and family education. The role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing Experience: At least one-year previous experience in clinical unit preferred.
