Description Knox College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern Languages - French to begin on September 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be a strong language instructor who places French language acquisition in a global context. We particularly invite applications from French studies and European studies scholars with demonstrated research and teaching interests that affect and connect the Francophone world, such as colonialism, revolutions, immigration, gender and sexuality, media, as well as relations with Europe and other parts of the globe. Another potentially attractive area of emphasis would be French for the Professions, or French for Special Purposes. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching French courses at all undergraduate levels of our proficiency-oriented and inclusive program. This appointment is a full-time position with the possibility of renewal. The teaching responsibilities include two classes per each of three 10-week terms (Fall, Winter, Spring) as well as contributing to support for advanced students in French and related academic programs.
