Swim Aide Department: Aquatics: Employment Type: Part Time: Location: Charles River YMCA: Compensation: $15.50 - $16.00 / hour Description: Title: Swim Aid Position Type: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, this position is responsible for assisting certified YSL Aquatic Instructors during lessons. This position will work only under the supervision of a YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor. Key Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: - Assist aquatics instructors during swim classes. - Be prepared for class. Have all equipment available and ready prior to swim class. Assist in putting away all equipment after swim classes. - Maintain a professional image and manner consistent with the YMCA mission and goals at all times. - Ensure a clean and safe pool environment at all times. - Engage in active listening with members in order to build relationships, understand each individual’s goals and interests and take the initiative to assist in the achievement of those goals. - Attend mandatory monthly in-service training.
