ACCEPTING INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY AT THIS TIME: JOB SUMMARY: The Animal Shelter Adoption Specialist is responsible for placing animals in adoptive homes via responsible matchmaking, counseling, and by providing exceptional customer service to prospective adopters. Adoption Specialists provide for the general care of shelter animals and the animal shelter facilities. Adoption Specialists are typically the first to assist shelter clients, potential adopters, and visitors. Specialists counsel guests about pet adoption and share information about our pet training and veterinary services. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: - Prior employment in a similar role or in animal welfare setting is preferred. - Associates degree or higher from an accredited university. - Previous experience in customer relations and front desk office management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Strong customer service orientation and experience. - Bilingual skills preferred. - Demonstrated ability in handling multiple priorities and good time management skills. - Ability to work effectively under stressful condition...
