Drafters are responsible for creating technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD 2D & 3D software. This involves interpreting designs from engineers and converting them into detailed drawings for engineering projects. The job requires proficiency in AutoCAD, as well as knowledge of drafting standards and techniques. The drafting technician may work on a variety of projects, such as electrical schematics or structural components, often collaborating with other engineering team members to achieve project goals.
