Position Summary San Diego State University is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Locksmith to oversee daily locksmith operations, provide technical expertise in access control systems, and ensure the security and functionality of campus facilities. This role combines leadership, hands-on maintenance, and coordination across departments to support safe and efficient campus operations. Key Responsibilities: - Maintenance, Repair & Preventive Maintenance - Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of locks, door hardware, and access systems. - Troubleshoot system failures, ensure compliance with ADA and safety codes, and address wear or deficiencies. - Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and document work in CMMS systems. - Inspect systems to identify risks and ensure long-term reliability of campus access infrastructure. - Lead Work Direction & Coordination - Provide daily direction to locksmith staff; plan, prioritize, and assign work activities. - Monitor work progress and inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance. - Coordinate workflows with other trades and campus departments to support projects and operations. - Provide input on...
