Lead Histotechnologist - 39547 University Staff Description University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Pathology: Lead Histotechnologist (Healthcare Services Senior Professional) Position #: 00846617 – Requisition #: 39547 Job Summary: The Department of Pathology is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Lead Histotechnologist position. The Lead Histotech will be responsible for processing, microtomy, special stains and IHC staining for all specimens received in the Histology laboratory. In addition to the above job duties the Lead Histotechnologist will assist in overseeing the daily departmental staff, direct workflow as needed, troubleshoot delicate instrumentation, assist the Histotechnologists with troubleshooting/investigating embedding issues, microtomy issues, special stain and immunohistochemical stain issues that arise daily. Key Responsibilities: · - 45% Histology Bench Work - Performing IHC, Special Stains, Boards, daily microtomy, QCing slides, and cutting boards - Assisting in the validation of new assays - Processing CAP studies required for compliance - 40% Workflow - Appreciating and directing staffing resources where needed - Ensuring all benches have ade...
