Become a part of our caring community The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments. The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 may contact physicians for prescriptions clarification and may enter prescription orders into the system. Also supports pharmacists and patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs developed to optimize health outcomes which include effective communication with patients and providers. Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction.
