Archaeology Field Director

Edwards-Pitman is seeking an Archaeology Field Director for projects in the southeastern United States, primarily in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Responsibilities will include project direction (including fieldwork and travel), oversight of field crews, producing quality reports, and managing multiple projects. Must meet Secretary of the Interior’s minimum qualifications for work as an archaeologist. Responsibilities: - While under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and/or Project Manager, oversee/manage field portions of projects, including crew management, accommodations arrangements, disbursement and tracking of crew per diem, and leading daily safety meetings - Assist with training field staff - Perform/oversee tasks associated with Phase I, II, and II projects, including shovel testing, excavation, photography, identification of artifacts, and site/feature (surface and subsurface)/survey documentation - While under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and/or Project Manager, contribute to technical reports and conduct QAQC of project deliverables - Follow company schedules, due dates, procedures, and policies - Maintain a field equipment inventory with...
