The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), (or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), is a professional who assesses and treats patients with both acute and chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system in collaboration with physicians and care providers to coordinate the best plan of care for the patient. S/he may be a Certified Respiratory Therapist only if they are eligible and actively pursuing registration.
