Job description

Job Summary: The Patient Assistant-Heart performs duties in the department and outpatient clinic environment and works under the supervision of the department director, physicians and physician extenders and other licensed clinical staff. Provides direct and indirect care for patients seeking specialized cardiac services, e.g., Heart Failure, Electrophysiology Procedures, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR), mitral clip. Performs a variety of duties within the unlicensed assistive personnel scope of practice that includes, but is not limited to, patient registration, patient care, data collection and secretarial tasks. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical technician program required or successful completion of School of Nursing Fundamentals required.
