Position Overview Akicita Federal is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to provide clinical laboratory support services at the Indian Health Service (IHS) White Earth Service Unit in Ogema, Minnesota. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing blood collection, specimen handling, and patient interaction services in support of diagnostic testing and treatment. This role requires strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and culturally competent patient care practices. Key Responsibilities-Specimen Collection & Patient Care-Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations-Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of all specimens-Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance to ensure comfort and cooperation-Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately-Deliver patient-centered care with respect for cultural sensitivity and community values Specimen Handling & Processing-Prepare, label, and transport specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols-Ensure proper handling requirements are mai...
