JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the Maintenance Division of Metro Transit. Essential Job Functions: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures major and minor on buses, Para transit vehicles, cars, trucks and other standard or heavy equipment. Responsible for performing preventable maintenance inspections and repairs and the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, air systems and hydraulics. Duties performed require knowledge of diagnostic equipment, as well as familiarity with symptoms which indicate equipment malfunctions. Employee must have the ability to complete work in a reasonable length of time and in a workmanship-like manner. Instructions are general in nature, and the employee must use independent judgment in carrying out assignments. Overall work performance is reviewed at the discretion of the Division Head. JOB REQUIREMENTS: NOTE: Employee must provide own hand tools.
