Job description

The PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) Specialty Pharmacy builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to develop pharmacist practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and abilities defined in the ASHP educational competency areas, goals, and objectives. The program emphasizes comprehensive medication management, patient advocacy, medication access, specialty pharmacy operations, and interprofessional collaboration to support children with catastrophic and complex diseases. Residents who successfully complete this PGY1 residency will be skilled in diverse patient care, transitions of care, practice management, leadership, and education. Graduates will be prepared to provide high quality patient-centered pharmacy services, pursue board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS), and advance into PGY2 specialized residencies or other advanced practice or leadership roles within specialty, community, and health system outpatient pharmacy-based settings.
