Position: Evening English Connection Instructor Department: Workforce Development & Continuing Education Type of Position: Non-Credit Instructor: Exemption Status: Exempt: Work Schedule, Hours per week: Tuesday & Thursday, 5:15 PM-9:15 PM, 8 hours per week Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No: Starting Salary Range: $25.00 per hour Position Summary: Provide English instruction to students who are transitioning from basic life-skill English classes into GED-level academic coursework, college transition or higher career placement. Instruction will be in reading, grammar, writing, vocabulary development, civics, and digital literacy at an intermediate to low-advanced level. Development of daily lesson plans to keep student attention, adhere to state and local academic standards and increase student success. Facilitate standardized testing for benchmarking. Engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners. Create reports and maintain records. Participate in professional development events.
