Overview: Job Description Summary: Evaluates patients for physical therapy due to injury or disease and administers treatment. Fabricates or recommends orthotics and splints, documents evaluation results or patient progress, and provides patient and family education. Job Description: Essential Functions: - Attends continuing education programs and participates in departmental in-service training programs to enhance professional development including participation in EBP. - Conducts Physical Therapy educational programs for hospital staff, students, and community. Delegates to students from accredited programs, licensed physical therapist assistants, and unlicensed personnel, supervising care provided. - Develops and administers therapeutic treatment to patients with developmental delay or functional deficits to provide optimal development, function, and independence. Utilizes developmental activities, modalities, and other treatment techniques to meet each patient’s specific needs and achieve therapy goals, observes, and modifies treatment plan accordingly. - Documents as appropriate and in compliance with requirements of the hospital and accrediting associations.
