THIS POSITION IS ASSIGNED TO THE CITY OF CONROE STREETS DEPARTMENT: JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician I performs ordinary, labor-intensive tasks commonly related to streets and drainage construction and maintenance. Also assists operator in any way necessary to complete the job. Must be able to work on-call duty. Must be available to respond at any hour during an emergency when requested. QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - One year of experience in Public Works preferred. - Ability to understand and abide by City of Conroe and Departmental policies and procedures. - Must be able to work on-call duty and respond at any hour during an emergency when requested. - Must be able to work as many hours as required to complete jobs. - Must be able to attend after hours classes to renew or obtain required certifications/licenses when necessary. - Must be able to lift weights of 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance. - Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. - Ability to use all tools to accomplish the job in an efficient manner. - Ability to adapt to new technology, new methods and changing conditions. - Ability to stand, stoop, kneel or sit f...
