Job description

The Offsite Referral and Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for completing all referrals and pre-certification requirements according to established protocols. - Obtains referral and/or precerts for patients for internal and external appointments and/or orders. - Communicate information pertaining to referrals and/or precerts to patients, external medical offices, and internal staff as per established protocol. - Performs other related duties. Education requirements: - High School diploma or GED No experience is required, 1 - 3 years of experience is preferred as follows: - Experience in processing prior-authorizations and referrals is preferred. - Understands requirements for Internal WMG referrals as well as Outgoing Referrals. - Understands the concept of PCP and referrals protocols as defined by Insurance Carriers. Compensation Statement: The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
