Job description

The City of Independence is looking for a Facility Maintenance Supervisor for the Power and Light Department. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor performs a variety of first-line supervisory duties related to the planning and coordinating day-to-day operations of employees engaged in facility and equipment maintenance activities. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Works under the general supervision of the assigned manager. Provides close to general supervisor to facilities field personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Performs Some or all of the following) Supervisory Functions: Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with City policies, procedures and applicable laws including: training in job skills; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; conducts inspections of work to evaluate progress of programs and projects.
