OVERVIEW: The Unit Apprentice is responsible for supporting the Unit Leader and Cabin Leaders. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp. You are expected to join in all evening programs; absences are excused only through the Assistant Camp Director. - Assist with supervision of assigned campers, prioritizing health, safety, enjoyment, education, and spiritual growth - Encourage camper participation in all scheduled activities and programs - Support and lead cabin devotions and enforce cabin rules for safety and positive socialization - Help with opening and closing day tasks as assigned - Refer ongoing behavioral issues to Unit Leader and assist with assigned tasks - Participate in evening and special programs, including skit nights and talent shows - Lead rainy-day cabin activities with appropriate supervision - Maintain cabin cleanliness including sleeping areas, bathrooms, laundry, and counselor quarters - Report maintenance issues to Facility Manager or Maintenance Crew Chief - Build relationships with campers to foster a positive camp experience aligned with Salvation Army goals - Model Christ-like behav...
