Overview: *Strong Internal Candidate Identified* The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties, including receiving, processing, and delivering laboratory specimens from inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and outside institutions. This is a fast-paced environment, working both as a team and independently. Responsibilities: - Performs quality and receiving functions related to checking patient demographic information, registration, ordering, adding, and canceling tests following all safety rules and regulations. - Prints and scans orders into the Laboratory information system. - Labels samples and delivers specimens to testing department, loads analyzers, centrifuges and performs specimen processing, restocks inventory, maintains the organized lab space. - Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment as needed. - Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications: - High school graduate required. - Able to complete assignments with minimal direction and adapt to rapidly changing workflows. - 6 months of laboratory experience preferred. - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding envi...
