Shelter Worker/Resident Assistant - Women's Shelter (On Call)

Overview Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Resident Assistant will provide support to Hope House residents and create a hospitable and safe environment in the shelter. On Call Residents must agree to work at least one 8-hour shift per month, and cover at least 3 Salvation Army holidays throughout the calendar year. Responsibilities: - Provide support to shelter residents. - Monitor the activities of the residents within the shelter environment. Complete daily Shift log checklist during your shift. Review and record the Communication Log each shift. - Conduct security wanding upon resident admission, as well as random wand checks. - Monitor the physical facility by making rounds every half hour and conducting periodic inspections to ensure rooms are clean, facility is secure and that clients are abiding by house rules. - Make referrals to alternative emergency shelter providers when Program beds are unavailable. - Maintain basic record keeping responsibilities.
