Overview Department: Emergency Unit: Schedule: PRN, Day Shift / Rotating Weekends Facility: St. Mary's of Nazareth Hospital Location: Chicago, IL 60622: Responsibilities: The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim. This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings. The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed. The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING: 1. Current and valid state RN license. 2. Unrestricted State DL 3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 4.
