Job Posting End Date: Worker Sub-Type: Seasonal (Seasonal) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Position Summary: The Mechanic Shop Assistant is an entry-level role for individuals beginning a career in vehicle and equipment maintenance. This position offers hands-on exposure to a professional fleet shop environment while supporting experienced technicians with basic, non‑hazardous tasks. Under direct supervision, the Mechanic Shop Assistant assists with shop organization, parts handling, routine inspections, and light maintenance activities. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and a strong willingness to learn. The Mechanic Shop Assistant will develop foundational mechanical skills and gain an understanding of day‑to‑day fleet operations. All duties are assigned in alignment with applicable youth labor laws, with a focus on training, observation, and safe work practices. Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 6:30am - 4:00pm.
