Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Controls Engineer in our Fullerton, CA location. Work in conjunction with management of various levels to propose, develop, and implement new and machine building technology for production equipment of aerospace fasteners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Work with Howmet Fastening Systems business owners to align technological solutions with manufacturing challenges such as safety, process control, or productivity. - Develop and promote a strategy of continuous improvement based on technological solutions including custom automation, smart manufacturing or artificial intelligence. - Manage safety, schedule, cost, and performance of projects using internal and external resources - Identify, propose and implement automation solutions including use of cobots, robots and fixed automation to significantly reduce labor and safety incidents. - Identify, propose and implement process control improvements such as recipe-based setup, poke-yoke, smart manufacturing systems to reduce downtime and scrap. - Identify, propose and implement next level technology especially in the areas of net shape forming and machining to reduce cost. - Manage...
