Job description

Description Skilled mechanic who under direct supervision safely perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders. Employees will rotate approximately every six (6) months through various assignments supporting Heavy Duty Truck Shop, Light Vehicle Shop, Lube Truck/Fuel Dock Attendant and Tool Room. - Assists with and performs the removal, repair and installation of transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque convertors, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components. - Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on machine systems such as: hydraulic, power train and engines. - May perform welding such as: Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, and Stick. - May operate equipment such as: Overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks. - Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections. - Performs other duties as required.
