Job description

The Assistant Director assists in monitoring the daily operations of the department operations including staff supervision, retention, budgetary oversight, materials management, and data management. The Assistant Director develops and implements departmental policies and procedures. Act as the liaison between the department and Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Building Services, Security, and the Dean’s Office. Communicate to the department institutional policies and procedures as recommended by the central Mount Sinai Offices. Create and submit Capital Improvement Plans for renovations. Act as primary contact for Project Managers. - Manage and oversee the Operations and Project Management teams to ensure quality and timely management of all infrastructure, administrative, and research needs for the overall Department. - Act as the Designated Safety officer by providing oversight to the department regarding general safety in the laboratories.
