Job Description The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to support the Small Animal Community Practice and Shelter Medicine programs. Approximately 60% of this position supports clinical faculty and veterinary students in the Shelter Medicine Clerkship and the pre-clinical curriculum through Multidisciplinary Labs (MDL), including anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, physical examination, and skills assessment. The remaining 40% supports Community/Practice within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Shelter Medicine support is provided at multiple regional partner shelters on a rotating weekly basis. Responsibilities include advanced nursing care procedures such as: -Sedation, induction, monitoring, and recovery of anesthetized patients -Placement of intravenous catheters -General laboratory operations -Specialized diagnostic procedures -Infection control and isolation management Required Qualifications: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the Commonwealth of Virginia Considerable experience in veterinary clinical practice Strong proficiency in: Knowledge of veterinary terminology related to anesthesia an...
