Paramedic IR Tech Assistant (M-F Rotating Days and Evenings) - ( 25005360 ) Description The University of Iowa Health Care department of Radiology is seeking a Paramedic. GENERAL CLASS DESCRIPTION: Under direct supervision of a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), Nurse Manager, or designee, assists with patient care services. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist technologists and physicians with procedures within interventional radiology department. - Setup sterile trays. Use proper sterile techniques including skin preparation. - Assist in the use of complex medical equipment during interventional procedures, including, but not limited to angioplasty devices, stents, drains, and filters. - Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient. - Under direct supervision of a Radiology staff physician and/or Department of Radiology Nurse Manager/designee - Assists with basic patient care services in all areas within the Department of Radiology including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Radiology, and other areas as needed. - Assist in the collection of venous blood samples. - I...
