Job Overview: This position provides assistance and/or performs basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the direct supervision of the nurse. This position may perform non-direct patient care activities as assigned, requested, or directed. This position also performs clerical duties as assigned. Must have the interpersonal skill to communicate with respect and compassion to customers. This position also communicates information through various telecommunication devices and assists in coordinating patient flow. Job Requirements: High School Diploma Basic Life Support (BLS) Completion of first nursing clinical rotation/semester Reading and math ability appropriate to the position. Multi-line phone skills, familiar with patient call systems and pagers. Previous experience with computer operation. Student Nurse (LPN or RN) Job Responsibilities: Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks in which the Student ACT has been trained. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe. Seeks clarification from the nurse when in doubt about how to proceed.
