Position Summary: The Moving & Event Set-up Technician is part of Vanderbilt University Maintenance and Operations (VUMO) and is a key individual contributor responsible for moving/transporting items across campus and setting up and breaking down special events. Reporting directly to the Move Crew & Pest Control Manager. VUMO’s annual budget exceeds $100 million in operating expenses and includes over 400 employees. VUMO manages major capital project expenditures totaling ~$125 million annually and facility renewal, replacement and large maintenance project expenditures totaling ~$20 million annually. Key Functions and Expected Performance: Move and transport furniture, boxes, hard and soft material, and various types and pieces of equipment in a manner consistent with material handling safety guidelines Set up and breakdown special event furniture and equipment such as tables, chairs, tents, staging tables, stanchions, and various other items necessary to support the event Operation and use of various material handling devices and equipment such as forklifts, tractors, pallet jacks, tow motors, furniture dollies, and four wheel dollies as necessary to accomplish the task at hand O...
