POSITION: Youth Advocate REPORTS TO: Director of Youth & Family Programs STATUS: Full-time, Regular, Non-Exempt: COMPENSATION: $21-22 per hour: BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program; 403(b) retirement plan; Paid Holidays, Sick, and Vacation LOCATION: Sacramento, CA (This position is not eligible for remote work.) AVAILABILITY: Anticipated schedule is Tuesday 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Schedule subject to change. JOB SUMMARY: Youth Advocates (YA) work directly with youth and transitional aged youth ages 13-24 in the Q-Spot Youth Center. YA’s plan and facilitate youth events and daily programming, youth outreach and help connect youth to resources, using a client-centered, inclusive, trauma informed approach. It is the goal of the Youth Advocate to provide peer support to vulnerable LGBTQ+ youth to decrease isolation, risk of suicide, increase connection, and improve overall mental health and well-being.
