The Medical Intermediate and Intensive Care Unit is a progressively opening unit with flexible patient acuity ranging from Acute to Intensive Care. This unit proudly provides quality care to Internal Medicine patients of a variety of medical diagnosis including renal, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, hepatology, infectious disease, endocrine, and gerontology. The team building this unit has been recognized by AACN as a Beacon Gold Unit for Excellence. This achievement was obtained through a focus in collaborative practice, a commitment to maintaining a highly satisfied work force, and a healthy work environment which supports both novice and expert clinicians. The Patient Care Technician provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner.
