Job description
Overview The Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics seeks applicants for a Research Specialist position to perform cutting-edge research across laboratories at the Institute (Professors Claire Bedbrook and Ravi Nath). We seek a highly motivated individual to contribute to investigating and reshaping the process of aging in order to promote longevity and improve health late in life. The Research Specialist will work under guidance from the Principal Investigators. The Research Specialist will perform basic functions and activities in defined research projects and independently conduct and analyze experiments relevant to aging and longevity. The position requires diverse experimental approaches including genomics (preparation of DNA/RNA and sequencing), complex molecular biology (e.g., cloning, immunostaining, qPCR, western blots), microscopy, surgical dissections and surgical techniques, as well as animal husbandry (e.g., African killifish breeding, strain maintenance, genotyping).
