Terms of Employment: 10-month Exemption Status: Non-Exempt: Temporary Position: $15.00 per hour EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: - Minimum certification requirements - Must be at least 16 years old (summer camp) and 17 years old (water safety). - Applicant must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and instructional experience (water safety and lifeguard). - American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred but not required (water safety and lifeguard). - Experience working with children preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: - Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Water Safety: - Assists and instruct 5th grade students with swimming skills. - Teaches students how to be safe in and around the water. - Supervises students in an aquatic environment. Summer Camp: - Assists with check-in and assignments. - Monitors campers during snack time, swimming time and restroom breaks. - Helps set-up and clean-up daily camp activities. - Interacts with campers during daily game time and swim time. - Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
