GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Librarian II – Branch Manager – Main Branch, this position provides prompt and friendly customer service to all library customers; shelves returned library materials; ensures that items are housed in the correct order and assists the circulation team with checking circulation materials in and out. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position exercises no supervision. IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Accurately shelves library materials and straighten collections, demonstrating strong attention to detail. Performs regular shelf-reading to ensure proper order and assists in creating and maintaining attractive displays. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of public areas, including tables and seating, to ensure a welcoming environment. Assists at the circulation desk as needed, checking library materials in and out efficiently and accurately. Greets and directs patrons to appropriate staff members in a friendly, helpful manner, providing excellent customer service.
