Job description

Location: Specialist Plant Associates, Wellingborough Salary: Competitive (DOE) To carry out maintenance and repair of mechanical plant equipment within the workshop at SPA. The mechanical fitter will be supported by the Plant manager and Workshop Foreman, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices. Specialist plant are a leading supplier of tunnelling equipment both in the UK and internationally. Key Tasks & Responsibilities -: Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and environmental standards. Ability to interpret OEM manuals, method statements, and risk assessments , ensuring safe systems of work are followed. Diagnose and repair complex faults in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems. Lead the mobilisation of specialist plant equipment including ventilation systems, hyperbaric systems and tunnelling equipment.
